Virginia Skyline Soccer Announces 2020 League Membership

HARRISONBURG, VA (July 23, 2020) — Virginia Skyline Soccer looks to provide a pathway for every player and team in a positive, fun, safe and healthy environment for boys and girls of all ages to learn and enjoy soccer. Skyline Soccer programs are designed for players who want to enjoy soccer recreationally in a local environment to programs that offer the opportunity to compete on a national stage. Our organization recognizes that kids interested in soccer participation have different needs and desires. Therefore, our club provides opportunities for kids to play, learn and enjoy soccer at the level that fits their needs best.

"We are very humbled by the opportunity to have three league member options for boys and girls at all levels of youth soccer," stated Club President, Steven Wagoner. "A lot of effort has gone into identifying proper competition platforms for the Harrisonburg area and we are very happy with the options we are able to present to our membership."

The process to become a league member requires a formal application. Our club has shown the below leagues that we have VYSA club membership, access to appropriate soccer field facilities, certified US Soccer coaching staff, administration staff, and referee assignors.

As a new club for 2020 and as an MLDA member organization we were also able to show the past performance of other MLDA member clubs. This helps demonstrate our proven processes and ability to logistically operate at the required levels of each league and also perform on the field at the beginner, advanced and premier levels.

Virginia Skyline Soccer has been approved for membership into the following leagues:

USYS South Atlantic Conference - EDP - (Premier Travel Soccer Option)
Provides our teams competition on a regional and national stage through United States Youth Soccer(USYS). This league option offers a 10 month season from September 1 to May 25 and is designed for our club's top performing teams (Academy). Teams that advance from the USYS South Atlantic Conference and win regionals will have the opportunity to advance to the USYS National League Showcase Series to compete for a National Championship.

Skyline Club Soccer League - (Local Elite Travel Soccer Option)
Provides our teams a competition platform locally in the Charlottesville and Harrisonburg surrounding areas. This league option offers a fall and spring season and is designed for our Academy or Academy Lite teams.

Old Dominion Soccer League (ODSL) - (Local Advanced Travel Soccer Option)
Provides our teams a local competition platform and offers fall and spring seasons. ODSL is designed for our Academy Lite teams and players that are looking for more competition than a traditional recreational program.
